Birthday Banquet

We attended the royal birthday banquet on Sunday night at Istana Nurul Iman, Bandar Seri Begawan. The food were excellent as usual. This time we managed to get a very close glimpse of His Majesty, Her Majesty, Her Royal Highness and other royal family members. They all looked superbly stunning, glittering and not to mention glamourous!!! ;)

His Majesty 61st Birthday Celebration

Its a normal practice for Bruneians to celebrate His Majesty birthday with colourful & happening celebration. This Sunday, 15 July 2007 will be His Majesty 61st Birthday.

Me & my hubby will be attending the Banquet Ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman on Sunday at 7.30PM. As usual, we'll have to follow the protocol procedures....that is to wear white Baju Kurung/Kebaya for ladies whereas for men white Baju Melayu with samping (sinjang).

Oh yes, by the way my daughter will be taking part in the Fashion Show on 19 July 2007 at Taman Jublee stage in conjunction of HM 61st Birthday celebration. We are all geared up for the event.....(mak dia pulak yang tak sabar - excited lah, konon-kononnya!)

Rabbits and I-Pod

Bunnies by the name of 'brownie' and 'blackie' (I guessed u guys should already knew the colour of the rabbits by the nicknames given, hehehehe)...few weeks back, I bought two rabbits for my daughter as her pets. She has been bugging and pestering me to buy her the rabbit for almost 2 months. I were hesitant at first, gradually when she showed me that she is responsible enough to have pets besides her 'fighting fish' then only I have decided to buy that cuddly, lovable animals.
I thought at first, it was very easy to take care of these rabbits....hmmm??? We have spent a sum of money just to buy these animals their foods, shelter, shampoo, combs, not to mention also their vitamins and other stuffs. As a parent, I don't want my daughter to have a sick and unhealthy pets since she will be the one to take care of all these animals. As long as all her pets are healthy, I will have no worries. :)

P/S: As promised, if she got position between no. 1-3 in her class for her mid-year exam this year, my hubby and myself will buy for her the I-Pod she has been aiming lately. Now, she has been reminding us about it!!!(Padan muka) Why? Because she got 2nd in class for her mid-year exam :)

Brunei Darussalam and Singapore celebrated the historic 40th Anniversary of the Currency Interchangeability Agreement (CIA) marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations.
To mark the auspicious occasion, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore, jointly launched the new $20 polymer notes issued by the two countries in a ceremony held at the Istana Nurul Iman.

Happy Birthday ......

This photo was taken in the early morning just now before sending her off to school. She planned to include this photo of herself & her daddy when she makes her own birthday card later today coz it's her dad's birthday...

Both of us planned to surprise him (not the card!). So what we did was, we 'pakat' with my hubby's bos and we really do it!!! He did not expect us to bring him the "Birthday Gift" all the way to his office....we celebrated together in the end. It was fun and a memorable ones....

He got a BIG SURPRISE from his wife & daughter.........hehehehe (bagus jugak our plan tu) it works!

School re-open

School re-opens today........after two weeks break. My daughter was very eager & excited to return to her school. Early at 5.30 am she woke up and prepare herself to go to school. Hmmmmm.........but while we're on the way sending her to school, she falls asleep in the car...snoring .... kesian jugak.

As today starts the 3rd school terms, that means her ugama class also starts today in the afternoon. Morning school starts at 7.15 am till 12.15 afternoon. Later from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm- her ugama class (that does not include her outside curicular activities)! I will be very busy again driving around from my office to school (fetch her) then send her back to another school for her ugama then comes back again to fetch her from ugama, brings her back to my office. Normally by the time I fetched her from her ugama, I am exhausted of driving around... :( (Tak apalah....rela berkorban apa saja for the sake of my daughter) :) :) :) .......

For those outside Brunei, just to let you know that normal school days in Brunei starts from Monday - Thursday & Saturday. Schools closed on Friday & Sunday......it also applied to all goverment offices in Brunei Darussalam. The next school holiday breaks will be in September (10 days) then come Fasting & Hari Raya School Holiday Break (12 days) & last school term holiday will be on end of Nov till year-end.......

"Ultraman"

I have always wanted to know what exactly is the proper name for the tower that holds lines and lines of cable dangling from one end to another end.....endless??? My daughter called them "The Ultraman"......hahahaha (I guessed if you have a once glance look, it does look like the animated hero...Ultraman). Though the cable holder has a different kind of shapes and sizes but they all look the same......

Kalau kat S'pore you can't visibly sees all that....tapi kat Brunei ni...mak oii....bersepah, you can find it almost everywhere by the roadside. Be it at the highway ke.....rural areas ke......you will not miss it!!!
